: Appearance :
LeBlanc is a tall, thin, pale man with mildly toned musculature. His hair is light brown, usually unkempt and hangs at mid-length. His eyes are amber, extenuated by vaguely skull-like tattoos covering his face. Usually well dressed in relatively loose clothing, his only unusual accessories are a necklace made of red beads, gator teeth and a bird skull and a leather belt, which hangs off his hip, lined with three shrunken skulls. Well hidden under his clothing lie scars of various shades of fading and design, souvenirs of his failed hunts. He has various rings, two eyebrow piercings on his left brow, three cartilage and a peg through his earlobe on each ear, all of which are silver-looking though made of white gold. Overall he very much gives off the appearance of a dark and sinister Vodou Witch Doctor, only to be thrown aside by his constant warm and friendly smile.
: Personality :
Despite his appearance, Theriot is incredibly kind, willing to help anyone in need and almost never losing his temper, even more so as he tries to compensate for his recent past. His defining trait, though, is his poor confidence, constantly doubting himself and trying desperately to impress his superiors and peers. Around mortals he appears quiet and thoughtful but is often just trying to stay quiet to avoid saying the wrong thing until he feels comfortable with his new acquaintance. When sad, he suffers quietly, only allowing those closest to him to know what is bothering him. As with many Ghedes, LeBlanc is often found drinking, flirting, messing with his Vodou in private or taking advantage of any opportunity to make a crass joke. 'Women, booze, Vodou and blues'.
: History :
While alive, Theriot never really amounted to much. He was born in the bayou not far from New Orleans to a loving family in the late 1800s and led a fairly normal life for a Cajun boy. As he grew he became obsessed with tales of the supernatural and spirits his family would. Eventually he moved into the city, taking a job as a bartender in a local blues club near Preservation Hall in the French Quarter. The owner, Mr. Solaine, took a liking to Theriot as he drew in crowds of tourists by recounting the tales his family told him. Solaine would even bring him to his private ceremonies, where the boy fell in love with Vodou. A couple of tourists broke in after hours at the bar one night and Theriot was killed trying to save the owner. Pleading with the Loa (the spirits of Vodou), Solaine blessed Theriot with a happy after life.
LeBlanc was approached by Baron Samedi, the Loa of the Dead, where LeBlanc struck a deal, becoming a Ghede (a Vodou soul reaper) instead of passing on to the afterlife. As a Ghede, Theriot thrived, though easily intimidated by his peers. To fit in he took to their tattoos and clothing, even peircing himself with silver-looking metals to seem invulnerable in front of the others. After many years, LeBlanc was approached by Samedi once more where he was volunteered, along with three other Ghedes, to return to phsyical world and right an imbalance of the supernatural. After years of travel and fighting, forced to kill innocent creatures in the culling, LeBlanc grew more and more sick with himself. After finally getting a lead among the poor souls he was forced to kill, he found himself in the center of a plot of a deceived fallen angel and an elder god, and with the help of new friends, and the other ghedes and reapers, he was able to stop them. Three years remain before Ghede's temporary body must release him and it is time for him to decide to return to the Loa and help the dead once more or stay among the humans a little while longer and try to make up for his forced transgressions...
: Powers :
As a Ghede, he can contact spirits, identify the supernatural and raise the dead in the form of Zombies or Ethereals (vengeful ghosts). With his Bokor training, he knows a variety of spells and potion recipes but they often require a lot of preparation and ritual, proving fairly useless in spontaneous battle. His spells and potions, since they are based in Vodou, have no effect on him and are only useful in relation to others.
